AGM 2019

The AGM was held in the Dundee Social Club on Thistle street, 10 people were in attendance with one person sending in apologies.

There was a Secretary's and Treasurers joint report, we are sitting with £1353.16 in the bank (as of 31/7/19) with no outstanding outgoings and one outstanding incoming of £22.

Committee positions were nominated/elected/re-elected as follows -

Chairperson - Anne Wilson
Secretary - Peter Campbell
Treasurer - Davie Mitchell
Transport - Vacant
Social - Alan Drummond and Ewan McEvoy
Website  - Brian Scott
Social Media - Peter Campbell
Predictor - Davie Mitchell

Membership rates were kept the same -

Standard Membership - Adults £12, Seniors £10, Junior £5, Family 2+2 £25, Family 1+3 £20
Premium Membership - £11 per month (payable Aug thru to July i.e. 12 payments) or £132 annual payment.

Super Premium Membership - £14 per month (payable Aug thru to July i.e. 12 payments) or £167 annual payment.
(Standard and Premium membership plus 1 ticket for DSA Player of the Year Dinner)

If you would like to join, rejoin, renew your membership you can do so by completing application form attached and by paying the appropriate membership fee direct into the FDBs bank account - TSB, 30-25-84, 00101908

You membership fee is important to the ongoing concern of our supporters club, it keeps our head above the water and allows us to sponsor a Dundee FC Player each season together with going towards DSA memberships fees and POTY Quaich costs. I would encourage everyone who has an interest in Dundee FC and the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues to take our and pay for membership.

Hospitality date - Provisonally, looking at holding an "Away Day" Hospitality event. With the last home game likely to be on a Friday night (24 April) and the previous home game against Morton on 11 April, we are looking at Saturday 18th April 2020 in Arbroath. Easily accessible by train and we have contacts in Arbroath who are now actively looking at a venue and a deal. More news to follow once we have it.

Please note that the DSA Player of the Year dinner will likely be Saturday 25th April 2020 in the Invercarse. This is not confirmed yet but likely. This is due to the Invercarse being already booked on Sunday 3rd May (Saturday 2nd May is the last game of the season away to Partick) The United game programmed for Saturday 25th April will likely be moved for TV, any games this season being shown live regardless of BT, Sky or BBC will be played on the Friday night, therefore Dundee V United on Friday 24th Apr and the DSA POTY on Sat 25th April.
Player Sponsorship - despite efforts to get Shaun Bryne (Fife connection) and Kane Hemmings - both requested within hours of signing, we were too late and missed out. Of the players available to sponsor it was decided at the meeting to sponsor last seasons Players Young Player of the Year - Callum Moore, squad number 22. Callum didn't have any sponsor and it was felt of the players that were still available it was better to sponsor a young promising up and coming player. This has now been confirmed and payment paid to the club.
Predictor. Remain very successful. last year we had 45 entries this year we are at 47 entries. Last season's predictor generated a profit to the supporters club of £75 so this is a vital stream of revenue for the supporters club and goes towards updating the Predictor Trophy and towards the cost of the APFDB Player of the Year Quaich that we present at the dosa POTY dinner.
We will continue utilising the benefit given to us by being an affiliated member of the DSA, being able to block book tickets for our members and Season Ticket holders prior to tickets being made available to the general public. I understand that this is controversial however without commenting on my own feelings on the matter, if this helps our members get tickets then we will use it. Obviously this will become only to apparent when tickets become available for Tannadump. To take advantage of this you must be a paid up member of the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues and you must be a Season Ticket holder. For Season Ticket Holders who are happy for non Season Ticket holder to purchase an away ticket in their name please let me know so that those APFDB members (for one reason or another) who are not Season ticket Holders but would be interested in a ticket may be able to get one.
Any APFDBs member wishing to participate in getting tickets this way are requested to forward their name, season ticket book number and season ticket client reference number to me asap. This was I have a record of them and when I ask for anyone wishing tickets and you are out of the house, I only need to know you what a ticket because I already have your details. Your cooperation in this matter is great appreciated.
DSA 5-a-sides - it was proposed and approved to set aside £100 to purchase a set of 5-a-side tops that our team can wear at the annual DSA Fives (normally in January)
The DSA Fans Pod was utilised by members at the Ayr Utd game and once again those that used it had a great time, with a different view of the game and throughly recommend the experience. Although that is our turn for the season, it is likely towards the end of the season that we will get the opportunity to use it again, anyone that would be interested should let me know.
Youth Raffle Sponsorship - although we do not have the funds to be able to support this as a Supporters club - as a one off it was proposed that we should try to get 30 people to voluntary donate £10 each to be able to enter this sort of thing in the name of our supporters club. This was received favourably as a one off and on a case by case basis. Therefore at the next deemed worthwhile cause an email and social media funding request will be sent out looking for 30 people (members and non members) to donate £10 per person to reach a target to enter the raffle.
Any questions or queries, please feel free to give me an email or call
Please consider joining/re-joining the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues by taking out a membership.
Please let me know if you wish to participate in the DSA Supporters Clubs advanced away ticket purchase scheme.
Many thanks and keep it Darkest Blue
League Predictor 2018/2019

Another successful predictor has ran this year with Game of Throw Ins (David Moncur) finishing top after many weeks at the top. Congratulations to David, see below a bit about our winner.

53 year old Dundee supporter, attended first game at Dens in 1971 with my dad and now still go regularly with my sister. I now live in Falkirk so easier to get to most away games. My family are all from Dundee but I was actually born in Perth as my dad got a job as a prison officer there the year I was born. If that wasn’t bad enough we then moved to Edinburgh and I actually went to Tynecastle High School, next to Hearts ground, and now most of my friends and in-laws are Hearts fans. I was there at the time both teams were yo-yoing up and down from the premier league so, after United, they are my least favourite team. Was at Dens when they lost the league in ’86 and always have the Youtube clip of the game available to send it out every now and again!! Married a Falkirk lass and moved out here 20 years ago and have two Falkirk supporting sons (sorry but couldn’t help it!). I did quietly apologise to my late dad as I took them there for the first time :-).

Looking forward to next season (the predictor one that is!!). Anyway, look on the bright side, I have not been to Gayfield for about 30 years!!

Nathan won all but one of the supporters clubs awards meaning Nathan collected The Andrew De Vries Trophy as Dundee FC Player of the Season 18/19.
World Cup Predictor 2018

I suppose we all knew that VAR would crop up in the final at some stage. Did it provide the correct decision, personally I think not.  Anyway that's a discussion for another time.
As for the Fife Dark Blue predictor I can confirm that Diesel Chef has held on to the top spot by only two points from late challenger Dunfie Dee.  In 3rd spot we have a four way tie between Anybody Bar England (a valiant defence of his world cup title), California Dee, Canadee and long time challenger Mirror in the Bathroom.  Well done to all our prize winners.  The strongest teams in the league were ABZ Blues and DD5 albeit only 23 points off top spot!
Thanks to everyone who took part and to Brian for updating the website, there is a small blurb about our winner Derek Gibson on the homepage.
With the Betfred well under way it won't be long until the league season begins again, look forward to seeing you all for the season long predictor.

Word from the winner :-

WC logoHi folks Deek here, Perth Dee, 62 member, ex Royal Navy /Trucker. I have been a Dee for more years than I care to remember ,born in Perth but due to a family illness I was farmed out to my gran and grandad who lived in Provost rd Dundee and went to Dens rd primary (a life forming educational paradise). My favourite Dee memory has to be seeing Dundee clinch the Div One title at Muirton Park and the two and a half hour trek along the Carse in a bus that would have graced a berry field to say it was a grubber is an understatement it had no right to go beyond the city boundry.A close second was a certain Tuesday night in Sth London at Selhurst what an experience so much beer and a 2 AM goat curry .bones ana'. I thoroughly enjoyed the World Cup some classic games and Russia should be proud of the show it put on .At present my wife and I are going through a tough time as she had a stroke in April and is currently in the brain injury ward at The Royal Victoria Dundee and I would like to take this opportunity to thank a couple of TRUE friends DD5 and Mr Grumpy ...AKA Graham Mac and Allan Thomson who have been rocks for me and have helped me no end through a very difficult time.
One last thing could you gently suggest to DD5 that he appears to have slipped into the Tay at Discovery point hitched his way through The Kingdom of Fife and is now South of Auld Reekie clinging hopefully on to an EH postcode. A' the best everybody and good luck to you all in this seasons league predictor

League Predictor 2017/2018SPFL logo

Well it was an exciting end to the predictor but congratulations to our winner Laura Bennie who managed to hold on.  Mirror in the Bathroom and Mrs Sundodger tied for second spot, only just holding off strong challenges from ABZ Blues BoDee and Pique Boo who were all just one point behind in 4th spot.  Highest scorer for the week was Kickin KT with a big 12 points, she will be kicking herself now as she was one of the early pacesetters.  Only three others made the ten point mark, BoDee, BruceB and Mrs Mitch.
A marker has been set by the ladies by taking two of the top three positions, clearly demonstrating that us blokes don't know what we're talking about when it comes to football.
A big thank you to everyone for taking part and hopefully we'll see you all next season.  A World Cup league is currently being worked on so keep an eye on your emails and the Fife Dark Blues website.

League Predictor 2016/2017

SPFL logoOur winner is Jonathan Gordon, 25 years old from Anstruther. Recently Started a new job in September last year as a Police Officer based in Fife at the Cupar area, Im sure he'll have met a few fellow Fife Dark Blues but I won't mention in what capacity......

Jonathan says

I usually play football on a Saturday for Fife Thistle normally trying to be a Barry Smith type full back, sadly with that and work getting to dens is difficult on a regular basis but will always try and make the effort and go when I am off or have the time. I also love watching Scotland games and being a member of the Tartan army so that I can get to the away games, normally I do try to get to as many games home and away as possible.
Being a Dundee and Scotland fan is normally a good day out spoiled by the football but when a win finally does come along I certainly make it last as I don't know when I'll see the next, haha!

Why I support Dundee is due to my Great Uncle Ian Dickson and my Uncle Derek Gordon, Both have been long time Dundee fans and they always wanted me to support the dark blues so made sure I was to follow in their footsteps and support the Dee at first my auld man was a rangers fan and I actually started supporting them,
Lucky enough my uncles saved me early doors and made sure I wasn't to join the dark side and I have never looked back ever since.

I am led to believe one of my family members actually had a trial game for Dundee when David White was the manager, this was just before Tommy Gemmell took over so sadly he didn't make it but a young Ian Dickson went to watch just when he started going to Dens with a school friend and the rest is history.

Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues Sponsor Nick Ross's Football Boots.

Nick Ross's bootsDuring the entire 2015/2016 season, Nick Ross's favoured football boots were deemed to be a slightly odd shade of Red this lead to representatives of the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues approaching Nick to see if there was any way we could help him choose a rather more pleasing colour of footwear for the Season 2016/2017. A deal was brokered and it was agreed that the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues would Sponsor Nicks Football Boots for this season. The photograph shows Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues members, Innis Carnegie and Liam Stewart handing over the Football Boots to Nick Ross recently at Dens Park. All at the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues wish Nick the very best of luck for season 2016/2017.
Euro 2016Euro Predictor

Well not many would have had Portugal as winners at the start of the tournament!.
The final scores are in and our winner is Rois de Fife, closely followed by Eurodees then a three way tie for third between California Dee, Mirror in the Bathroom and Redhot.  We will be in touch with the winners shortly.
Many thanks to all those who took part and if you enjoyed the challenge next seasons predictor will start on Saturday 6th August.

AGM Update

Thank you to all that attended the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues AGM last night in the Clansman.

Thanks to Mel for giving us the use of upstairs.

Full minutes will be available at the next meeting, however main points are included in this email.

Finance - Approx 1500 held, with no outstanding outgoings due.

Elections -
Chairperson - TBA
Secretary - TBA
Treasurer - Davie Mitchell
Transport - Andy Lynn
Social - Andy Prunty Plus TBA
Website - Brian Scott
Social Medial - Rebecca Stewart
Predictor - Davie Mitchell.

As you can see we are still looking for someone to come forward to fill the vacancies for Chairperson, Secretary and a second Social person, if you are interested on getting more involved please let me know. I will carry on as Secretary until a replacement can come forward that has more time to give and hopefully fresh ideas and enthusiasm.

Thank you to all those above you have volunteered to help over the next 12 months.

Memberships - Cost of membership has remained the same. Normal Adult Standard Membership is 12. Premium Membership which includes APFDBs day out (likely in lieu of Hospo) 11 per month. Super Premium Membership which includes POTY ticket on top of Premium Membership benefits 14 per month.

MEMBERSHIP FORMS ATTACHED. Please note that the reservation and collection of match tickets for APFDBs during the coming season will be limited to members only!!

Player Sponsorship- it was decided to sponsor one senior player - I have emailed the club requesting the names of the players still available to sponsor, once I receive a reply, I'll email out to all for preference.

Hospitality Game - Due to the disappointing Hospitality at Dens last season, it was deemed fair to wait and see before deciding what to do for this coming season. If the hospitality at Dens does not improve greatly, a day out would be favoured by members that normally attend hospitality and were at last nights meeting. Early thoughts would be to book somewhere in Dundee for a pre match lunch and then head up to Dens for Kick off, try to arrange with the ticket office so we all sat together and then have an after match social in Dundee before heading back to Fife. However, it was deemed appropriate to wait and see what feedback comes from other hospitality users once the new season gets underway to see if any improvements have been made. A cut off of the end of the year to make a decision was agreed upon.

Transport - Andy Lynn has taken over as transport Secretary. It is hoped that at least a self drive could be hired and driven for the 1st game of the season against Killie on 1st Aug. At the moment we have approx 9 names down on the list. We need more bums on seats to make the journey viable, so if you would like to join us for the journey to Killie, please get in touch with Deewok ( ASAP. It is much easier to arrange transport if people give Deewok an early indication that they would like a seat. Deewok has set up a "Whatsapp" page purely for transport and to make it easier to get messages out to people, please get in touch with Deewok if you have "Whatsapp" and you would like to be added to the page. There is a cut off for the Killie bus of Friday 24th July, a decision to run a bus or not will be taken then.

Predictor - Congratulations to last season's winner Tony Butter, also to Andy Prunty for his 2nd place and to Kev Gray for coming in 3rd. All prize money has been paid or set against the coming season's costs. The 2015/16 predictor is up and running already with the first games already on the website. Cost is again 5 per entry, with Premium and Super Premium members having one entry each as part of their membership. Davie is happy to take a Auto Entries - i.e. send him a list of 10 scores and he will apply those scores each week for you to the list of fixtures, therefore you don't have to put in an entry yourself every week, get in touch with Davie for further details. Let's try and encourage you family, friends and work colleagues to participate is an effort to boost club funds a little.

Andy P is looking to arrange possibly as many as 3 get togethers between now and Christmas. This was an idea that Anne came up with, which would see us finding a watering hole in Dundee prior to a home game and to try and get as many members there pre match about 1pm for a pint and maybe something to eat. As our members are spread over three stands now and with the numbers willing to travel on buses dwindling, this was seen as a way of keeping the APFDBs connection going. If it was successful, I would be happy to try and arrange a ex DFC player guest to come along.

Date of next Bi-Monthly Meeting is - Thursday 3rd September 2015 at 1930

On a general note from me, I would like to put out a plea to all those on the email list. As I have said at the last two AGM's, I am too busy to be able to run the supporters club fully like it was before, but I will keep it ticking over. It is hard to justify putting the time, effort and expense in to arrange meetings when only half a dozen people turn up for a meeting and I've brought myself and 3 others in my car! Without wishing to criticise anyone, when it comes to reserving Derby tickets or the like, I have plenty people contacting me looking for spare vouchers etc, however the same people don't actually get round to taking out a membership with our supporters club never mind attend meetings. Last year when I pushed out an email to see how many people would be interested in having a Bobby Glennie and Cammy Fraser night again (without a date, just who was interested) I got three replies! We have had some good doo's in the past and I'm sure we could again in the future with support.

Kind regards

2014/15 Predictor

For the first time in a long time this years winner is a Fife Dark blue member, Tony Butter from Dunfermline, second spot is shared by Andy Prunty and Kev Gray.  Many thanks to all those who took part and we look forward to seeing you in the new season. Below is bit of background from Tony,

Memories were do you start; at the beginning!  First ever game Dundee v Chelsea pre-season friendly, I was told it was part of the Charlie Cooke transfer deal (?). When did I know I would support Dundee for ever - Dundee v Cologne 1971-72; 2-1 down with 20 minutes to go to go on to win 4-2. My first lesson in the away goals as I thought it was 6 - 6 on aggregate until my Dad explained!  Favourite players; John Duncan, - my first favourite player to leave, I thought it was a death in the family; Gordon Strachan; Jim Duffy; Keith Wright - I saw him play for Raith Rovers and said we had to get him and glad we did; Tommy Coyne - from - why I are we signing him? - to  "Thank you for merry much for Tommy Coyne, thank you, thank you very much"; Gavin Rae, I couldn't believe McCormack was going to sell him to Brechin; Barry Smith - legend. Disappointment Scottish cup final - I still blame Kenny Clarke for giving the "dodgy" foul that led to the goal. I was at the cup final on Saturday - oh to dream!

With the full support of the board, coaching staff, and players of Dundee FC, loyal Dee supporters are being invited to "volunteer" to step up and take part in a challenging adventure of a lifetime with the view of raising funds for the clubs youth development programme, and to create this "first official adventure-bonding with fans and the club"

The Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues met in the Clansman Bar on Monday 8th April 2013 with Manager John Brown in attendance and escorted by John Brown Jnr.

A big thank you to John Brown for coming out to Leslie to speak to those who attended the meeting and answer questions.
The Manager spoke articulately and passionately about his appointment, his keenness to be made permanent, direction of the Club and gave an insight into the demands for levels of professionalism, standards and discipline he is looking for.

Many thanks again to him for giving up his time, appreciate he is very busy.

The date of our next meeting is yet to be announced, we are waiting for the dates of the post split fixtures to be announced.

Sunday 31st March 2013 saw the inaugural Andy Penman Fife dark Blues Golf Open at Drumoig Golf Course. It was a great day out thoroughly enjoyed by all, which started off with coffee and bacon rolls. We are proud and privileged that Dundee FC Legend Bobby Glennie, fresh from being voted into the DFC Hall of Fame, hit the first drive to set off the 16 golfers and I am please to announce it went straight down the middle of the fairway. After 18 holes in what could be described as "not the warmest weather we have had on an Easter Sunday" it was back to the club house for a heat and a lovely meal supplied by the Drumoig Hotel. Once all the scores had been counted.

Chief steward for the day, Sandra Robb announced that Neil Farmer had won the longest drive on the 5th hole and her brother Russell had won the nearest to the pin on the 16th hole. This was Russell's first outing on a golf course! way to go Russell. Independent judicator,

Chairman Colin Reid, counted the scores and announced that Team four had won the team prize. Team 4 comprised of Captain Neil Farmer, Drew Farmer, Ralph Sutherland and Bob Whyte.

Individual prizes went to - 1st Neil Farmer, 2nd equal Andy Penman and Kenny Urquart and 4th Rob Cowie.

The Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues held a successful Burns Ceilidh.on Friday 1st Feb 2013 with everyone having a great time. Great music from
the JIGtime Ceilidh Band made sure the dance floor was never empty.

Thanks All for supporting this event.

Thanks to the Balwearie Golf Club and all their hard working staff who made sure there was no waiting for drinks and served up a very tasty Haggis, Neeps and Tatties buffet.

Also a special thank you to Peter, Russell, Sandra, Rob, Bradley and the rest of the APFDB's Committee for all their hard work on the night and for arranging this successful event.

We are delighted to announce that at the Cammy and Boab evening on Saturday 30th June 2012 we officially announced that to mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Dundee FC winning the Scottish League Championship the Fife Dark Blues have renamed to the Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues. This is believed to be a fitting tribute to the Championship winning side and also a tribute to the "Boy King" Andy Penman a Fifer who went on to star for Dundee FC. A new club badge has been commissioned and we will soon have merchandise and the like to promote our supporters club.

Grateful thanks to the Penman family for granting our supporters club permission, to mark the occasion a Andy Penman Fie Dark Blues engraved Quaich was presented to the Penman Family. In the Picture Mrs Sandra Penman is seen receiving the Quaich along with Daughter Lynn and Son Andrew and also Supporters Club Secretary Peter Campbell. Unfortunately Gail Penman was unable to attend.

An evening with Cammy & Boab

Venue Clansman Bar, Leslie. Date Saturday 30th June 2012. This was when and where Cammy Fraser and Bobby Glennie launched their "Saint and Greavsie" type show.

Those that were in attendance were treated to an absolute cracker of an evening. Cammy and Bobby were in great form and played of each other entertaining the audience with their tales from inside the dressing room at Dens and other places during their careers. Too many stories for a website and wouldn't want to spoil it for others who wish to catch this pair in the future. The Andy Penman Fife Dark Blues will certainly be inviting them back again however to our fellow DFC Supporter Clubs, do yourselves a favour and get in touch to book Cammy and Bobby for your own fund raising evening.

Many thanks to all who came along and supported the evening, to those who helped with the buffet, to those who donated to the raffle, to Mel and the Clansman Bar, Leslie for hosting the event and to the Tiffin Coffee Shop, Leslie for sponsoring the event. Finally to two great ex Captains of Dundee FC who graced us with their presence, many thanks guys, you were superb. To wrap up the evening Cammy was asked what his biggest regret is during his footballing career, his reply, "leaving Dundee to join Rangers" pretty much sums this pair up, if you opened them up you would find a Dundee FC Crest tattooed on their hearts.

Fife Dark Blues Player of the Year 2011/12

After all the votes were counted the Fife Dark Blues Player of the Year for season 2011/12 has been awarded to Nicky Riley. Even though Nicky has had an injury plagued second half to the season he managed to get enough votes from the first part of the season to just keep himself ahead. It was very close in the end with Rab Douglas only being half a point behind and maybe if the final game of the season was counted Big Rab may have pipped Nicky to the prize. However it was not to be and Nicky held on so congratulations to Nicky. Also congratulations to the overall winner of the DSA Player of the Year which went to Gary Irvine. Gary also did will in our own poll coming in at third place.

The small group of Fife Dark Blues who went along to the DSA Player of the Year dinner held in the Hilton Hotel on Sunday 6th May had a great time, it was clear from the night that the current set of players are well thought of by the Dundee FC support and here is hoping we get most of them signed up for next season.

Fife Dark Blues Merchandise

There is a limited supply of Tshirts and Beanie Hats with the new Fife Dark Blues Badge. Pictures can be seen via the Fife Dark Blues Superstore. If anyone would like a new tshirt, hat, baseball cap, Jacket etc etc for Christmas then send an email with your requirements to It is more or less possible to get anything you want with the supporters clubs badge on it all you need to do is ask.

Player of the Year 2010/2011

Although the outright winner was Stephen O'Donnell for Player of the year and Leigh Griffiths for Young Player of the Year it was decided to recognise the fantastic achievement of the whole club in over-coming the adversity of a 25 points deduction and going on a fantastic 23 game unbeaten run. Therefore three awards were presented by the Fife Dark Blues.

An award was collected by Stephen O'Donnell and presented to "Dundee FC to mark our gratitude to all players who contributed to the success of season 2010/2011"

Senior Player of the year which went to Neil McCann. Neil is fondly remembered for Chipping a goalkeeper, sending the Derry mental and sparking a massive derry rumba in Perth a number of years ago. Who would have thought in our time of need he would return, chip a goalkeeper, sending the derry mental and sparking another massive derry rumba. Neil received a Fife Dark Blues Quaich.

An award was collected by Barry Smith and it was presented to "Dundee FC  to mark our gratitude to all management and staff who contributed to the success of season 2010/2011"
The awards given to Dundee FC were crystal decanters engraved with the Fife Dark Blues Logo and the quoted subscription above.

A Legend Visits Fife

The Fife Dark Blues were delighted to welcome Bobby Geddes to their Jan 2011 meeting recently. Bobby's heroics during the game at Stark's Park, where he had to come off the bench for the injured Tony Bullock, becoming the oldest player to play in a competitive match in Scotland, were recognised by the Fife Dark Blues at the 2009/2010 Player of the Year dinner. Unfortunately Bobby was unavailable to pick up his award in person on the night so came along to thank the Fife Dark Blues for their Senior Player of the Year 2009/2010 award. Bobby took part in a question and answer session and recalled some of his greatest moments playing for the Dark Blues. The Fife Dark Blues thanked Bobby for taking the time to come along to their meeting and invited him and his wife Kim as their guests to their Comedy and Curry evening in the Hilton Hotel, Dundee.

FDB Predictor winner
Congratulations to the winner of the Fife Dark Blues predictor league - Rick Stern. Thanks to all who took part this season and hopefully we see you back again.

Rick has been a consistent high scorer throughout the season and has never been far away from the top of the league. We asked Rick to tell us a little about himself and when you read the info below you will all agree that Rick is a worthy winner of his prize.

"I was brought up at 77 Sandeman Street, which is the tenement facing the Dens Park main stand. As a schoolboy I watched the Dee in the days of Albert Jullieson,  Billy Steel, Ernie Ewen Etc...  I was at the 3 consecutive finals with my father and saw us lift the League Cup twice. Fast forward to the Championship team of 1962 and I knocked about with the unmarried boys, who lived locally (Ian Ure, Alan Gilzean, Bobby Adamson, Tommy Mackle) and when I married in 1963 Ian Ure was my best man. I introduced video to Dens when Davie White was the manager and in these days it needed a hoist to get the VHS recorder and black and white camera to the gantry !!

I moved to Spain for personal reasons 1n 1991 and lived there for 15 years which is where Hercules comes in. They were my local team in Alicante and I watched them, although I still kept up with the Dark Blues.

We returned to Dundee in 2006 due to ill health and of course I was able to resume my support of my beloved DFC. Although disabled and not capable of attending on a regular basis I did manage to see the first home game this season v Falkirk as a Hospitality guest.

I think the season past has been stressful, but with the current squad and Barry Smith we should be able to compete next season.

In conclusion I would like to say how much I enjoy your predictor and each Saturday I look forward to checking the results. Please convey my regards to the runners up and all the participants. I look forward to taking part again next season.

Ray Stern

PS I will be 74 in August."

Well done Rick and Happy Birthday when it arrives.

PAX Insurance is the company Peter works for whos' Managing Director kindly donated the 250 for corporate sponsorship. The two places the Fife Dark Blues had been given as a raffle prize at the Comedy night so Peter will host both the FDB's guests and the PAX Insurance guests. Glenrothes Strollers '96 Colts

The Team that the Fife Dark Blues are sponsoring this season are at home this week against Kelty Marion Colts. K.O. is 10am at Overstenton Park. All are welcome to attend, and see the youngsters playing. This could be classed as a pre-Derry aperitif in the morning, then the main course at 3pm at Dens.

The boys have got off to a reasonable start this season, winning 2 out of their 3 league matches, and having a reasonable mini run in the Scottish Cup run, which involved 2 matches that went to extra time, against teams from the higher league. In the first round, the Colts defeated Inverkeithing 3-2 aet, after coming back from 2 goals down in regulation time.

In the second round they were 1-0 up until the last minute, against Elgin Star, but eventually went out to a 3-1 defeat, no thanks to the poorest, weakest, 1 sided display of refereeing you will ever see.

It does make for a good Saturday morning, and we hope to see you there.

The Fife Dark Blues have booked a 25 seater coach, for the following matches, and prices have been finalised. Anyone wishing to book a seat on any of the buses, please contact Peter Campbell on 07766 887333, or email at . Pick up points and times will appear at a later date on the front page.

Due to the fact that the away matches are in a space of about 5 weeks, and to lighten the burden of the away-day weekend costs, we are offering a package where you can pay up a 4 match package at a cost of 10 per month for 5 months, saving yourself 10 on the cost of paying for the buses individually.

The matches that the package covers is one away trip (the first half of the fixtures) to Partick Thistle, QoS, Morton & Dingwall. Should a match be postponed, your trip would transfer to the corresponding match, later in the season. Choosing this option guarantees your seats on the bus. Please direct your interest in this package to Peter on .

Members can now book seats on all of the following trips at any time, although it should be noted that any unsold seats will go on sale to the general public, 2 weeks prior to match day. Seats will then be sold on a first come - first served basis.

It should also be noted that alcoholic drink is not permitted on any bus, for any trip. Any person found with alcohol on the bus will be ejected from the bus immediately, no matter where we are on the trip, & membership will be revoked from the supporters club.

David Stewart, a Fife Dark Blue member, passed away on Monday evening, after a long illness. Dave was a true dark blue, and will be greatly missed and he will always be remembered, affectionately as "the buffet man".

If anyone from the Fife Dark Blues would like to show there respects to David, his funeral is at 10am on Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at Dunfermline Crematorium. Before his death, David asked that this be a celebration of his life, and not a religious affair, so its football colours, scarves and jeans to be worn if you wish.

There shall be one minutes applause at the funeral, in respect of David's life.

I am sure that all Fife Dark Blues members thoughts are with Dawn, Lauren, Chris & the rest of their family, at this sad time.

Due to a request by a couple of our members, we will have specially designed supporters club ties available for purchase at our next meeting. The tie will cost no more than 10, but might be a bit cheaper, once we finally get the shipping costs. The design is a diagonal thick bands of blue & red, with a thinner white band between the thick bands. The Fife Dark Blue logo is embroidered on the bottom blue panel.

The logo is shown on the image to the left.

The idea was suggested that on the hospitality day, against the Rovers, and also the Player of the Year dinner, that we all turn up wearing our club tie.

Dundee are the Alba Cup Champions

What a day & what a birthday present !!!!!!!!!!! Its been a long time since we won anything of significance, but hopefully this is the first part of the double. 6000+ fans cheering us on, a great performance by the team in the second half, and a few bevies before & after the match. PERFECT !!!!!!!

Cup Final Sunday had a great turnout at the Clansman. There were 50 Dees from all over Fife, including 3 special guests from the Dees Down South, who were made welcome, and also joined us on the bus to the match. To Ann, Dot & Mike, we hope that you enjoyed your day, and you will be made more than welcome, the next time that you are in Fife. Please look us up.

At 3.45, I bet that there were few in dark blue who would have thought that we would be the team that were partying at full time. The first half was abysmal, and a goal didn't look in the offing. Second half was a totally different game. An OG, a sending off, joyous fans on 3 sides of the stadium, and the winning goal scored by Fife Dark Blue sponsored Craig Forsyth. (I always said that sponsoring him was a good investment).

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall, in Dundee's dressing room at half-time. A Jocky special pep talk that done the trick. It was like a different team for the second 45. But just to say that ''Dundee are the champions'' makes me feel proud to be a Dee, and it makes all the years of winning nothing, worth it.

Photos of the day are available on the link

Rab's Big Moment - Fife Dark Blue spotted on TV celebrating

We have exclusive footage of FDB member, Rab Thomson punching the air, with joy, as Scotland score their first goal against Macedonia. Rab has taken his new found fame well, and although now a worldwide star, he remembers where his roots are. He was spotted outside Forthbank Stadium yesterday, mingling with his minions, with his entourage of management, minders & groupies, but always has time for his adoring fans.

When interviewed yesterday, pre-Stirling Albion, his lasting comment was '' If you want an exclusive, talk to my agent !!!!''.

Rab is available for corporate events, autograph signings & general decorating work. Footage can be viewed on the link below, 17 seconds in.

Our pre-match event, at Charley's, in Kirkcaldy, was a major success, and hopefully it was one of these events that will be talked about for a long time afterwards. 150 Dark Blues packed the hall, and all seemed to enjoy their day.

We had a great 40 minute set, supplied by the lads from the Central Dark Blues. Songs in their set included cover versions of 5 Rebeccas, Clubfoot, Chelsea Dagger and a rousing rendition of The Bonnets O' Bonnie Dundee got the crowd rocking. It was just the job to get the atmosphere bouncing, in the hall. A video of there performance is available to view at

A big thank you to the boys, once again. You are welcome back any time.

We then had the raffle in which there were some fantastic prizes up for grabs, which was kindly drawn by Dundee FC commercial assistants Verity Tynan & Niccole Ney. A list of prizes & winners is below:
  1. 2 Tickets to Scotland v Holland : Michael Nelson
  2. Framed Legends top : Billy Thom
  3. Bedlam Paintball Voucher: Brian McLuskey
  4. Men's watch: Paul Zacoski
  5. FDB goodie bag: Russell Robb

Congratulations to all the winners.

Gus Tawse then brought the event to a close with a very poor 30 minute set, The Fife Dark Blues can only apologise, for a poor end to the event. This was our first open event, and if we don't try things, we won't know what works. A comedian for this kind of event, was perhaps with hindsight, not a good choice. It won't happen again.
A big thank you goes to all the members who kindly gave some of their time up on the day, to assist with the smooth running of the doo. Kev & Russell (the Ugly Sisters) on the door, Gemma, Leanne, Gordon & Lauren on the Stall, Brian for doing the ''pap'' thing with the camera, and Dawn, Colin & Peter for assisting with the raffle ticket sales. The day would not have been a success without your efforts.
Pictures are now available from the event from the Gallery..
Thanks once again to all who attended, made the event memorable, and The Fife Dark Blues hope that you will come to the ''Away Day Over the Tay 2'' on February 27th, 2010. Details of the event will appear here.

Your comments about the event can be left on our forum, which requires registration, at

Colin McMenamin was voted by club members as the Fife Dark Blues player of the year. He was presented with the trophy, by Ross Barrie, on Sunday night at the DSA Player of the Year Dinner, which was held at the Hilton Hotel, Dundee.
Every week we hold an online poll to select who is our Man Of the Match, and at the end of the season, the player with the most votes gets our award.  Colin won our award quite convincingly this season, with 8 votes, with Eric Paton, Rab Douglas, who won the main DSA player of the year award, Jim Lauchlan and Colin Cameron all scoring 3 votes each.
All the Fife Dark Blues, wish Colin & the rest of the squad all the best for next season, and hope that next years event will be a championship winning party !!!!

Details from the AGM
The Fife Dark Blues held their first AGM on Thursday 21st May. There was a fantastic turnout, and although Bob Brannan couldn't attend the evening, plans for next season were set in motion. The evening started with a change of Chairman, with Dougie Horne standing down from the position due to personal reasons, and Colin Reid taking over the roll. Our thanks go out to Dougie for his efforts over the last year, and best wishes go out to Colin for the next season. Other members of the committee are staying in their present rolls.
One of the main items discussed was the new membership packages that are on offer. As well as the existing single person membership, we are now offering reduced rates for senior Citizens, family memberships & Premium Membership.
The Premium Membership is a fantastic deal, offering 1 match hospitality, between February & April 2010, entry to the DSA Player of the Year dinner in May 2010 and 1 free bus trip to an away match next season..................all for just 10 a month !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Family membership is consisting of either 1 Adult & 3 kids, or 2 Adults & 2 kids for only 22.50 for the season.
Senior citizens are getting their memberships for 7.50 this season, and single members are the usual 10 for Adults & 5 for Juniors.
All memberships come with the usual benefits that are associated with the Club.
We are sponsoring two players next season, our Player of the Year 2009, Colin McMenamin (home), and Craig Forsyth,(away) because of his Fife connections. This has been confirmed with Dundee FC, and payment is pending.
Next season, we shall be running 8 - 12 buses to away matches, depending on who comes up/ goes down. Definite buses are to QoS, Morton, Partick Thistle, Ross County. Possible buses will be to Inverness Caley Thistle & Ayr. This will be clearer on Saturday, once the relegation/promotion issues are sorted. Details of times & prices will follow. Due to people pulling out of buses at the last minute, we are going to be taking a 5 non refundable deposit for people wishing to travel. The way that this will work is that you pay your 5 deposit, prior to the first bus that you get on. Once you are on the bus, you then pay the full fare. The 5 deposit is then transferred to the next bus, and so on. At the end of the season, the 5 will come of the fare of the last bus. If you book a seat, and don't take it, you lose your 5 deposit. In order to get a seat on the next bus, another 5 deposit will be required.
If you have any questions or queries about this, then please contact either Gordon Barrie, Ross Barrie or Colin Reid through the usual channels.
Initially, for next season, the 25 seater that we had hired towards the end of the season, shall be block booked for the away matches. If more than 25 seats are required, we shall order a bigger coach. If numbers are less than 18, 7 days before the match, then a self drive bus shall be hired, & the 25 seater cancelled. Ross Barrie volunteered to drive this. There will be a final booking date, before any unsold seats are put up for general sale. After this date it will be first come first served.
Future club meetings shall be on a 2 monthly basis, next season. They shall be held on the first Tuesday of the month, with the first meeting of 2009/10 season being held on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009. The next meeting after that shall be in October, unless an extraordinary meeting is called.
Next season we are looking at hiring a pub/hall, and holding pre-match hospitality for both Raith Rovers matches, in Kirkcaldy. The idea is to put a band on, lay a buffet out & do a raffle. Other DSA clubs will be invited along, with the hope that it will become a regular occurrence, as long as we are in the same division as Raith. we are also looking into doing the same kind of thing prior to the Dunfermline matches.
Along with the football Club, the DSA, Dee4Life, and anybody else connected with Dundee FC, we are hopeful that this will be the last season that we are in the First Division. Lets do our bit to support the Club, vocally & financially, and get behind the team from the first ball that is kicked in August. As the man from the Highland Dark Blues said at the DSA player of the year dinner ''VICTORY OR DEATH''

The DSA 5-a-side tournament at Dens Park, was held on Saturday, May 16th. This was a 15 team competition, starting with 3 groups of 4, & one group of 3 (which the Fife Dark Blues were in). It was a pretty misty day, but the pitch was in perfect playing condition. The squad for this tournament was Gordon Barrie, Greg Hall, Leanne Barrie, Sean Hall, Brian Scott, Ross Barrie and Sam Scott.
Group Stage
In the first of two matches in the Group Stage, Fife Dark Blues vs Bobby Cox A, Ross Barrie was in goals with outfield players Gordon Barrie, Greg Hall, Leanne Barrie, Sean Hall, Brian Scott and Sam Scott. The match was very challenging from the minute the whistle was blown to start until the final whistle was blown. There was a number of great saves from Ross Barrie throughout the game. The closest that any team came to scoring was in the last minute when Leanne managed to break away from her marker, and unleashed a rocket of a shot, only to see it rebound of the post.
The final score was 0-0.
In the second of the two matches, Fife Dark Blues vs Central Dark Blues, there was a lot of action. Sean Hall started off the game helping the Fife Dark Blues get control of the ball for most of the game. Ross Barrie was in goals again keeping up the great saves. The substitutes for the start of the game were Greg Hall and Leanne Barrie but were later subbed on, Sean took Leanne's place on the bench and Sam took Greg's place. Although not long after Sean was put back on the pitch as Greg was subbed again. The Fife Dark Blues kept control of the ball for most of the game although the final score was yet again 0-0.
These two results meant that the Fife Dark Blues progressed into the Quarter Finals which was further than they had expected to get!!

The Quarter Finals
In the Quarter Finals, the Fife Dark Blues were against Bobby Cox B. As this was further than they had expected to get, everyone had cheesers on there faces and were in high spirits. Gordon Barrie had a couple of chances to score, one was skied and the other skimmed the bar. Bobby Cox B scored 2 quick breakaway goals which the keeper was not at fault. The Fife Dark Blues were awarded a penalty late on, which Sam Scott took the penalty for the Fife Dark Blues which sadly missed.
The final score was 2-0 to Bobby Cox B, and so the Fife Dark Blue dream of Champions League football has been put on hold for another season !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the day.
Gemma Barrie

Youth Development Presentation, Saturday, January 3rd

A presentation of the funds that were raised at the race night that we had, in December, was made at half-time today, during the Dunfermline match. The cheque for 725.37 was presented to Jim Thomson on behalf of the Fife Dark Blues by Lauren Stewart, Gordon Barrie, Sean Hall, Ross Barrie & Robert Thomson. Thanks go to everyone who helped, attended & donated to the evening. Without the help from fans, supporters & local businesses, we would not have been able to raise as much as we did. A special thanks also goes to the family, who wish to remain anonymous, who donated 125.

As mentioned before, the money that was raised has been donated to aid the Youth Development programme at Dens Park, & hopefully, it won't be too long before we will start to see the benefits of young talent like Kyle Benedictus & Kevin McDonald, coming through the ranks again. The more that we can raise as a supporters club, the more that we can donate to the Youth Development Programme, which hopefully means that the club can supply better equipment & facilities, which can only mean that we produce a better standard of player.

The Under 19 team left today to compete in an exchange tournament in Portugal, which runs until the 17th of January. Hopefully, experiences like this will give the young guys the kind of experience that will spur them on to greater things. We hope to have a report on the tournament, kindly supplied by John Holt, upon their return.

The Fife Dark Blues also hope to have a weekly lottery starting within the next two weeks. All the monies raised will be donated towards Youth Development. Details will follow shortly.

Dundee v Partick Thistle, Saturday, December 20th

Well, here we go again !! Another Saturday, another must win game. This week we are hosts to Ian McCall's Partick Thistle. On Thistles earlier visit to Dens this season, they went through to the next round of the CIS cup, thanks to a dubious last minute penalty, giving them a 2-1 win.

Last week, they managed a 2-1 victory at home to basement side Airdrie United, while we slipped to a 1-0 defeat away to fellow strugglers Clyde. Thistle have not travelled well, this season. They have only won 1 and drawn 1 out of  7 away matches, scoring only 3 goals, in the process. Like Dundee, The Jags seem to have trouble finding their way to goal. So far this season, they have only scored 18 goals in the league, compared to our 11, and their top scorer is Harkins with only 3 goals. Lets hope that their poor run of away form continues this week.
Thistle do not seem to have any injury problems that will affect their match preparation.
Thistle's recent form is a mixed bag. Their last draw was against us, at Firhill, in October. So, recently its been either win or lose - nothing in between. Their current form reads
P8  W4 L3 D1 F8 A7 Pts13
Dundee see the return of Mikael Antoine-Curier, from international duty in the Caribbean. His presence was a big miss last week. Although we had most of the possession against Clyde, we never looked as if we had the urgency to go on and win the game. Clyde's keeper only had 2 saves of note to make, both in the second half. The first was a fine stop from O'Brien, just after the restart, the second was from Colin McMenamin's first touch, after coming on as a sub midway through the second half. The main talking point was the sending off, of the lesser spotted Darren Young, after only being on the field for 3 minutes. Will we see him again in a dark blue shirt ? The point is open for discussion.
With Young suspended, Cameron & Benedictus still out injured, the only other doubts are  Eric Paton & Rhian Dodds, who are both suffering from a virus.
Since the return of Jocky, our record reads
P5 W2 L2 D1 F5 A3 Pts 8
The season is starting to slip away from us, and unless we go on a run of  5 or 6 wins on the bounce, starting now, to get back in to the mix, the league season is over. In my opinion, once the gap gets to double figures, its always hard to pull the gap back, let alone overtake it. 12 points to the farmers is a massive gap. If we do not win on Saturday, then I think that Jocky must start thinking about preparing for next season.
But even after the doom & gloom from last week, my prediction for this week is Dundee 2  Partick Thistle 0.

Race Night 12/12/08

Thanks to all who attended, donated & participated in the inaugural event for the Fife Dark Blues Supporters Club. The general consensus for the evening was that it was a great success, & a great sum of money was made, which once all monies have been received, all members will be notified of the amount, & a donation will be made to the Youth Development Academy for Dundee FC, on behalf of the Supporters Club. Special thanks go to Dougie Horne, Neil Marshalsey & Lauren Stewart for their assistance on the evening, and to Dave Stewart (the buffet man---not poofy man !!!! Lauren), for the great buffet that he managed to produce for us.

Photos of the evening are now available to view in the gallery on our website.
Anybody wanting to leave their comments on the evening can do at the link below.

The weekend was a good one apart from the football on the Saturday afternoon, and as the picture shows, the night before has obviously taken its toll on some of the younger members !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday evening was great. Lets make the next one even better.

CLYDE v DUNDEE, Saturday, December 13th
After two failed attempts to play the Livingston match, for which I think might be a blessing in disguise, with Hegarty taking over at the helm, Griffiths coming back from injury, us missing MAC, our thoughts move on to the Clyde match, on Saturday.

IF the match goes ahead, I would suspect that there will be a few sore heads on the supporters club bus, going through to the game !!!!

But once again, it will be weather dependant. Last weeks home match, that Clyde had, against Airdrie was cancelled due to a frozen pitch. If the weather doesn't warm up a bit, this weeks match could go the same way. With Broadwood being the highest professional Football Football Stadium, above sea level, in Scotland, and also having one end missing, allowing the weather elements to have virtually the freedom of Cumbernauld, it doesn't bode well.

Clyde are a team that have struggled, blowing hot and cold, most of the season. Recent impressive results are a 2-0 win away to QoS, & a 2-2 home draw with St. Johnstone (who they also beat 3-2, in August, at MacDiarmid Park), although, on the whole, there form is no better than mediocre. Their last 6 league matches give a form guide of:

P6 W2 L3 D1 F5 A8 Pts 7

Our form still reads the same as last week, since the return of Jocky.

P4 W2  L0 D2 F5 A2 Pts 8

Clyde are sitting in the play-off place, just 2 points from the basement spot. This game is as important to them, as it is to us. If they win, we are just 1 point above them, if we win, the chink of daylight between us, turns into a crack. A 7 point gap, gives us breathing space. Clyde have two definitely out for Saturday. Stuart Kettlewell has fractured a rib and will be out for three to four weeks. Neil McGregor is improving but is a couple of weeks away yet. He began running at training this week and hell and will be back for selection soon

Dundee have Colin Cameron & Kyle Benedictus still on the long term sick list. Colin McMenamin and Darren Young might make an appearance, but it could still be a week to early for them. A goal after 17 seconds and an assist early in the second half from Mickael Antoine Curier ensured Guadeloupe's passage to the Semi Finals and the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009, and ensures that he will still be sunning himself in Jamaica, for another few days, while we endure temperatures of just above freezing.

My prediction for this week is 25 hangovers, and a tight 2-1 victory, IF the game goes ahead.

Livingston vs. Dundee match preview

A win at managerless Livingston, this week, will be seen as a massive step to getting seriously back into the mix. Livi are bound to be in turmoil, after the week that they have had. Financial irregularities showing its head again, being dumped out of the Scottish Cup by lowly East Stirling & the sacking of their management team on Monday.

This Saturday sees matches that will have a significant effect on the final standings of the league. St. Johnstone vs. Queen of the South, (a draw would be a good result), Morton vs. Partick Thistle, (Morton on a run, difficult game for the Jags) & The Pars on a Jolly up to Dingwall. (could go anyway, this one). There is also the relegation battle going on between Airdrie & Clyde.
Our match against Livingston on Saturday, could see us going into second place, 3 points of top spot, if results go our way. Omens are good for this one. We are undefeated in our last 5 league visits to Almondvale, 3 wins, 2 draws.
Livi's current form is not good reading, if you're a fan.
P7 W1 D1 L5 F6 A14 Pts 4
This is the kind of form that we showed early doors this season, but have come through it and are on a run ourselves, since Jocky returned.
P4 W2  L0 D2 F5 A2 Pts 8
With all the uncertainty and rumours about the problems at Almondvale, this is bound to have an affect on the players. Hopefully, it will, and they will wilt to the power of Dundee.
My prediction is a 3-0 away win, to keep the run going, and start to put pressure on the other teams.

Dundee VS. St.Johnstone match report
After Saturdays result against the tractor boys fae Perth, the league is wide open. Was it a case of 2 points dropped, or 1 point picked up ?
This was a game of the proverbial two halves. The first half possession was dominated by St.Johnstone, but apart from their goal, they never made any clear cut chances. The goal was a case of our centre halves being caught flat footed. To often teams are scoring goals like this against us (Two in the 0-3 Livington game, come to mind). The defence is getting better, though, and with Gary McKenzie back from injury, hopefully a bit of cohesion will see thing tighten up at the back. The last 10 minutes of the first half saw Dundee coming more into the match. It was the 45th minute, though, before we had a serious effort on goal, a 20 drive from Pozniak that produced a great save from Main.
The second half started pretty much the way the first ended, with Dundee coming more & more into it. Two efforts from Curier in a minute went close, one producing another good save from Main. Pressure was building on the Saints, and two inspired substitutions, Daquin & Williams replaced by Shinnie & McHale, changed the flow of the game. Any attacking threat of note was up at the Bobby Cox end. A couple of poor decisions by the Referee & his assistant denied Dundee two penalty claims, the second was a stone waller. As the game went on, Pozniak was coming more & more influential, spreading the ball all over the park, and getting a bit of joy down the left. It was his ball to Malone that set the left back free down the wing, who put his one and only decent cross of the day in, for Curier to take a touch, and drive the ball past Main from 14 yards. No less than Dundee deserved.
Dundee then took their foot of the gas, as both teams seamed to settle for a share of the points. So we thought. The last minute seen a great chance at each end. First of all Milne was clean through on goal, and produced a wonder save from Big Rab. From his kick out, Curier found himself clean through on goal with only Main to beat, but managed to drive the ball past the post from an acute angle, with Main flapping.
From what was lining up to be a poor match after 30 minutes, turned out to be one of the most enjoyable 90 minutes I have watched for a long time. I think if Alex Rae had still been in charge, we would have wilted, and probably lost by 3 or 4. Well done Jocky. Keep the team spirit & effort up, and we will not be far away at the end of the season.
Answer to the question above : 2 points dropped I think.

Dundee vs. St. Johnstone match preview
Well here we go, guys. The first 6 pointer of the season. Us against the Farmers from Perth.
Things are looking up for us, though, since the return of Jocky. The injuries seem to be clearing up, the team are showing a bit of cohesion & fight, and the general atmosphere around Dens has perked up considerably. Dundee simply need to keep winning. It's a big ask, but if we can do that, the rest will take care of itself. Some good teams in this league that are a match for many premier teams, so no disrespect intended and no underestimation of the job to be done. The more we win, the more the others will be looking over their shoulders.
We would be foolish, though, to write off the challenge from Queens, Livi or Partick. This would appear to be the closest that this league has been this year. As we have seen already, everyone can - and will - take points off each other. Credit where credit is due, St Johnnstone have gone on a great unbeaten run and are up there on merit, now we need to emulate that and hope we are in the mix come the end of the season, as I believe we have the mental strength (under Jocky) to take us over the line.
Is Saturday a must win game ?
In my opinion, its a must not lose !!!
