Ok not 1-0 (hence why I was mid table on the Predictor) but it was Nervy!!!!
Great day in Hospitality, started off in the Clanny at 1030, Bacon Rolls, Stella and good tunes. The bus driver was excellent even allowing liquid refreshments and a small hastily arranged carry out from the Clanny only lasted until Cupar! where replenishment was successfully coordinated at Lidl's. Onto Dens for the start of hospitality. Unusually, for us, it was pretty uneventful. housed upstairs in the Penman, we were visited by Club Chairman Bill Colvin and Ray Stephen, who was fantastic. The game was nervy as you all know, but at the final whistle, let the party begin. Pat Liney brought the Championship trophy through to the Penman lounge, and a few of us managed to get our photo with it. Some then left on the bus back to Fife while another group stayed in Dundee and went to a few pubs before getting the last train home to Fife. All in all an excellent day out, been going to hospitality for a few years now, always hoping that one day we would win the league while there. No need to go again now ……… oh wait, see you all next year. lol

quite unbelievable really. What a contrast from the feeling on the bus back from Morton the week before. It even took Deewok to Friday afternoon to start getting upbeat for the game against Alloa. Who would have thought the results would of all gone our way yesterday. A bit of nervous first half but certainly took the game by the scruff of the neck in the 2nd half. Good to see the strikers on target. Onwards and upwards to Dens next week for the last game of the season, Helicopter Saturday and with us in Hospitality too, all the makings of a fantastic day ……………… I'm hoping for some party come 4.45pm next Sat

The 3-5-2 formation clearly does not work and is complete ludicrous. If this position is tried again then Bomber is surely signing his own P45. There was no need to change the team around as much as this, Nade and Hughes, although we did not see much of them due to the sending off of the goalkeeper Letheren, remains to be seen. Will Bomber still be there at the end of the season? Time is running out!

It's a hard choice choosing a manager to please everyone, but going on results up until now, i'd give Bomber the job, players seem to be responding and a different attitude to the game, a bit more confidence in the play etc. Well done Bomber keep it up.

Derby Fever nearly upon us
One day to go.
Bombers Dundee certainly were better against St Johnstone
We need the DABs to have a wee bit of an off day and our guys to be on top form.
Not impossible though, stranger things have happened in Dundee Derbies.
We will miss GGH but having played him up front for the last two games then it should be striker in for him.
Who would you go for at left back, Easton if fit, suspension free Matty or Grasi having made him come back on Weds?

Whatever, good luck to the Dees and APFDB members whether at the match or watching on TV wherever in the world you are.

I've got a feeling about todays game - come on Dundee, stop feeling sorry for ourselves and get the shirt sleeves rolled up and take the game to the opponents. Paw Broon, Erchie and Jocky are all kind of on a shoogly peg as well as the Dandies are very inconsistent after a promosing start.
Jamie Langfield is always good for throwing one in the back of the net so a final score of 2-1 to the Dark Blues.
All ticket game as well and I read the Dandies have sold all their allocation so hopefully it will be a good atmosphere.
Well I'd better go and get shovelling the snow - 'Mon The Dee.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all APFDB's. A belated chistmas pressie would be 1 point against the Manky Mhob. If we were to get 3 points I'd be in heaven, until the next game anyway.
Realistically, if we keep the score below 3, then we could consider that as a result as we're losing goals for run just now.
No Davidson for tonights game  - should mean 1 less booking on the crime count

No reason to see why it shouldn't be a convincing home win - Thistle look as though they have added quality right through the team and it will be interesting to see how Shinnie plays. Butcher will make sure that defensively they will be switched on from the kick off and not find themselves 3 down after 8 minutes. Can't see our central defence partnership keeping Billy McKay quiet - he'll leave them behind if we play a flat back four.
Hopefully it's too cold for all Inverness "imports" and they fail to turn up for the game.
Come on The Dees!!!

Had a good trip up to dingwall c/o Peter and was pleased that The Dee came away with a point, a point gained. Victoria Park a hard ground to take points from and they could have grabbed a winner near the end but a fair point. I hope The Dee will bring in a goalscorer and  possibly another midfielder with experience during the transfer window, hopefully Barry will have them lined up for signing ???

The minutes applause was impeccably carried out I am glad to report Neil, but went down hill from then on.
Some terrible refereeing decisions but tbh i thought that would be the case as soon as I knew Collum was the ref.
Simply though we dont have to look to others for blame. For one reason or another we weren't at the races today
maybe the occasion was too much for some but we just didn't get going against a poor United side. They weren't much
better than us but they managed to play at a higher tempo and stronger on the ball than we were plus strong powerful
strikers. Night and day performance wise compared to the Hibs game at Dens.

No analysis required - just make sure we're in their face fi the 1st minute, let them know they're in a game and get revenge for the 3-0 drubbing at the start of the season. Simple enough but in the real world, I don't think our defence can cope with the movement of the TT forwards.
Hopefully the minutes applause for Doug Smith is impeccably behaved after the comments from Motherwell supporters relating to the minutes silence for the game just before Rememberance Sunday. We need to start picking up points after yesterdays results as well.
Remember "there's only one United and that's a chocolate biscuit" hopefully with a soft centre

Derry Rhumba.

At least you were warm Neil. Absolutely frozen at Livvy today. Started off well, good shift by Savo and Baird up front
in the absence of Nish. Saddened to see Savo go off which looked like a bad knee injury we didn't play as well
in the second half without him and seemed to sit deeper and deeper as the game went on. But still, in the hat for
the next round and that is all that matters at this stage. So on to Dens next Sunday for the much awaited Derby.
We will need to play much better than we did today and the absence of a front line is a worry. No Riley today either
and with the news of setbacks for McCluskey and Finnegan our injury situation shows no sign of getting better
anytime soon.

A welcomed break from League duties but would have preferred a home tie against a lower league team as this game is the potential banana skin.
Just watched the Southampton mascot doing the Gangam Style dance at their midweek game and think Deewok could incorporate the dance moves along with an imitation of that fat bassa Charlie Millar at next weeks game against "The Shed boys".
With Nish suspended, it forces a change in the tactics as neither Baird, Boyle or McIntosh could trap a bag of cement, never mind a ball - so let's play through midfield, forcing they cheatin bassas to give away fouls from which we can score from set pieces - FFS we are so predictable.
My DFC keyring broke today - is that an omen or a godsend??? Well at least I've still got my sign on my bedroom door saying "Dundee Supporter Sleeps here".
I'll be sitting in front of the laptop with my oneses on watching the updates refresh every 2 minutes - how sad is that!!!
Three cheers for the red white and dark blue!!!!!!!!!!

nae luck Neil. Nearly 1000 Dees at the game though with a very good turnout from the Fifers including a fully booted
and spurred Deewok. Just not our day, having watched the highlights I think Nish's red card was correct, defo foul
leading up to their first goal, ref played advantage and then called it back for their 2nd and their 3rd was offside.
Great goal from Conroy though. This is off course seen through Dark Blues glasses lol!!

Would be happy if at 4.50pm, the Dark Blues have extended there unbeaten run to 4 games.
Don't know what to expect tomorrow - big travelling support of over 600 will cheer the team on so fingers crossed.
No injury concerns so same team as last week - game being shown on Fox soccer plus as well which is a bonus.
A goal from Davidson or Baird would be a fantastic - don't want them to have played in the SPL without ever scoring a goal!!

Great result Dundee, well deserved too. 7 points from 9 with a massive game against St Mirren
Next week to get off the bottom. What a goal by Kyle too, thought when the clearance fell to him "just our luck it falls to a defender" but what a strike with his left foot, sparky's fine consolation strike was easily over shadowed by Kyle's wonder strike, possibly the best goal from a Dundee centre half since Bobby Glennie's screamer against Aberdeen!

The journey back to deepest darkest Fife seemed to be a lot quicker this week after such a fine win. Paisley here we come, ready or not.

Let's hope so Loyal. Although hard to see where the next point is going to come from!
No lack of effort and despite the result thought the last home game against ICT
Was our best attacking game so far. Trouble is the lack of confidence throughout the
Back 4 regardless of who is fit or what combo is played. Seemingly Gallacher played
Reasonably well last Sat, I thought he had a decent per season too, so maybe there is
A little light at the end of this long and dark road we seem to be on just now. I'll be interested
In the crowd figure today, I know of a few regulars who are not bothering any more. Think
Most season ticket holders will attend, but not sure I'd be motivated to pay £20 at the gate
Each Sat for what is on offer! Always hopefully though, DBYB.

Will the extra time victory against Yinited mean tired legs allowing another Dark Blue victory?

Good day out in Edinburgh well at least prior to 3pm.
Not too bad in the first half, although it was poor defending in allowing the cross to come in for their first goal.
Didn't turn up for the 2nd half unfortunetly.
Onwards and upwards, a wee break for the Scotland games then a Friday night game against ICT.

Is reconstruction of the leagues going ahead? It does begin to look like it is getting closer albeit coming about due to rangers circumstances, and if it does go through does this mean rangers will be in the SPL 2 resulting in them only being out of the top league for a season or however long it takes them to get out of it. Hopefully things might just work out in our favour this time!

Bits and Pieces from AGM 28/5/12 Posted by: Rosythdarkblue33

Hi all,

not a full set of minutes from last nights AGM however a few points to be going on with which needs your attention.

The Secretary's report contained a review of the year from a Supporter clubs' point of view, a transport report on buses etc, and thanks to our Chairman Colin, Treasurer Gordon, Website Manager Brian and Predictor Manger Davie.

Treasurer's report - due to delays on the FRB the Treasurer was unable to make the meeting but had passed the following information -

Bal - £1750 (roughly give or take a few pounds)
Outstanding In - Membership fees outstanding £250, Outstanding 62 Dinner tickets £116, Outstanding POTY ticket £20.
Outstanding out - Hospitality bus £180, Predictor League Winner £40

All in all - Balance - roughly £1900. Sums are roughly due to aforementioned Treasurer not being able to attend.

On top of this the Secretary has a cash float which contains £176 - to come off this is £20 for the predictor signed shirt and the cost of framing said shirt. there will also be the predictor signed shirt (Rab Douglas) which will require framing from this money too.

We also hold a set of Taylor Made Golf Irons for sale/auction in the future. (Approx value £250)

Election/Re-Election of the board for next year.
Chairman - Colin (proposed Peter, Seconded Rab)
Secretary - Peter (seconded Dougie)
Tresurer - Gordon (proposed Peter, Seconded Sandra)
Transport - Rob (proposed Rob, Seconded Davie)
Social - Russell (proposed Russell, Seconded Peter)
Website - Brian (proposed Brian, Seconded Peter)
Predictor - Davie (proposed Davie, seconded Peter)

It was agreed to keep membership at the present rates for next season, all membership fees are to be paid or set up by 1st August 2012. Members paying monthly direct debit for Premium membership are reminded to change their direct debit payments to £11 per month form £10 per month.

It was agree to delay a decision on sponsorship of players and/or Platinum membership until a later meeting prior to the season starting. Continue with the Dens Lottery in whatever format it is changed too and investigate sponsorship of Deewok for a further season. It was voted on and agreed that due to the current need to put every available penny back into Dundee FC we would be unable to support the Strollers this year.

It was agreed to continue with the Fife Dark Blues Hospitality at Dens with a view to book a table for our members at a game towards the end of the season to be picked once the fixture list has been announced.

Transport - for buses any booked seats that are then unable to be taken up will incur a cost of £10 for an adult and £5 or a youth.

Euro 2012 Predictor league is up and running, see the website for details, entries must be placed and paid for prior the the first game on Friday 8th June 2012.

The Fife Dark Blues are proud to announce that we are holding a Cammy and Bobby show on Saturday 30th June 2012 in the Clansman Bar, Leslie. More details will be announced shortly but at the moment tickets will be limited to 40 and will cost £5 per ticket. The evening will take the format of the Saint and Greavesy show and will give a fly on the wall account of Cammy Fraser's and Bobby Glennie's time at Dens inside the dressing room. There will be a small buffet and a raffle/auction.

It was proposed and agreed to mark the 50th Anniversary of Dundee FC winning the Scottish League by renaming and rebranding the Fife Dark Blues to the "Andy Penman, Fife Dark Blues" We are now actively requesting permission from Andy Penman's family and if they agree it is proposed to announce the name change officially on the 30th June 2012.

It was also decided to pick a honorary member each year at the AGM, while this year this will go to Andy Penman's family next season nominees will be requested with a vote at the AGM prior to bestowing the honour on the person.

Date of next meeting was decided to be 25th June 2012 to be able to tie up any loose ends for the Cammy and Bobby show and be able to distribute tickets and collect monies.

Finally - Best Wishes to Rob and Jen who are getting married this coming Saturday. The Fife Dark Blues would like to wish them both congratulations and our very best wishes for the future as Mr and Mrs Cowie.
